The Pirates

The Pirates of the Seas roam the strata, constantly on the lookout for things to steal and people to capture and sell as slaves. They have taken a particular interest in Tehrig and Arkana (to whom they refer to as the "supergeophysical gal"), and have become frustrated by their many humiliating defeats at the hands of these two and their friends. In addition to their large submersible pirate ship, which can capture smaller vessels by "vibro-vacuuming" them aboard, and their one-man flying "mini-sharks," the Pirates have their own island, their own television network, and an active membership in the Interstrata Marine Pirate Federation. The Pirates are known to occasionally perform an elaborate song and dance production number set to their catchy theme music...

Nasty Max (Maxagaze) is the foul-tempered leader of the Pirates of the Seas.

Mighty Matt (Mattymatte) is Nasty Max's slow-witted second-in-command.

Massmedia is Nasty Max's girlfriend. She runs the FIPIRATE broadcast system.

Sleazeappeal [sp?] (Seskapil) is the sophisticated one.

Ringnar is Nasty Max's chief rival in the campaign for the office of President of the Pirate Federation.
